Let's Do Something Different...
RADICALLY different
My parish is selling pies before Thanksgiving.
Apple pies.
I believe pie to be the epitome of post-dinner desserts, right up there with flan, ice cream, and a fresas con crema.
So, naturally, as Mass came to a close I exited the sanctuary and into the narthex and I bought myself a pie.
The money is going to help parish teens fund their trip to the Steubenville Youth Conference next summer. My pie purchase was a double win because a) I got pie and 2) I have three daughters who signed up to go on that very trip to that very conference.
Our Youth Minister asked me to help her count the earnings after and, yikes, we earned mere pennies. If I wanted to fit the bill for my own three kids to attend Steuby, I’d have to buy 500+ pies.
So I said to myself, “Self, you should do something different… you should go all in.”
Here’s my plan:
For the next year, I will be changing the way my online ministry works. Currently, I have a ton of resources that are currently behind a paywall at SignumDei.com. They have laid there, fairly dormant, accessible only to a few paying substackers.
They need to be in the world.
Like my daughters need to be at Steubenville next summer.
And pies won’t cut it.
Only the goodwill of my audience will.
Here’s what I need from you:
Pray for me– I need your heavenly thoughts because if God doesn’t run this ship, it’ll sink. And I’m swimming to you for some sanctity.
Help me send my daughters to Steubenville. Consider updating to a paid subscription.
Here’s my first resource: My 8-part video course on Mariology.
My goal is a measly $900. Whether I make that goal or not, my paid content is about to be unleashed to the world throughout the rest of the year. All of my online courses, eBooks, video challenges, and catechetical materials will be at the service of the God who inspired me to create them.
Jesus, I trust in you.
Easy as pie.
